Bataan has lots of tourist destinations just like it's neighbor provinces. One of these spots is the Las Casas Filipinas de Acuzar which is found in Bagac and where you can tour like you were able to turn back the hands of time. Here you can have a glimpse of Filipino culture since 18th century through a collection of preserved and restored Filipino-Spanish houses. The place has a total land area of around 400 hectares, 26 hectares of which is developed.
Ancestral houses from different places in the Philippines were bought and transferred to this place. Most of the old houses here are original, others are reconstructed based on photos and there also replicates for old houses that still stand and serve as shelter for the descendants of the original owners. These reconstructed houses were done after a thorough research of its original structure even the intricate details of it.
CASAS
Each house is called Casa plus the name of the place where it came from. Casa Binondo for example is a Casa (house) from Binondo, Manila. To add on that, this is the most expensive house they offer for rent to their guests. One of its features is that the toiletries are Hermes brands. Every Casa has its own interesting story and history, some of it being a school of the well-known Filipino artists Amorsolo, Tolentino and Francisco and others being related to our national heroes Rizal and Luna. I will leave the rest of the interesting stories behind other houses for you to explore when you visit this amazing and historic place.
All the staff in Las Casas are also wearing traditional clothes.
