Davao City is tagged as one of the safest cities in world.
When we went there, we didn't get any package tour, we just did it by ourselves. We made our own itinerary, so that we can explore and spend much time in every place. Besides, we heard that the place is safe.
My favorite painting symbolize equality.
* you'll see these painting in dabawenyo museum.
The travel time from Manila to Davao airport is about 1 hour and 45 minutes. When we arrived, it's already night so we just directly went to Peoples Park by taxi before looking for a hotel.
PEOPLES PARK
It is for free entrance.
After we roamed around and took some pictures, we decided to look for our hotel to stay in for 3 days. It's not hard to find a hotel as almost every street has hotel already and the price is cheap. For rooms that have common CR, it ranges from Php 150.00 - Php 500.00 per day and for rooms that have CR, it ranges from Php 1000 and above.
BLUE VELVET HOTEL AND CAFE
The place we stayed in.

First day in Davao.
We went to ISLA RETA BEACH RESORT in Talikud, Samal Island.
The beach has white and fine sand.
The water is so clean and blue. It really encourages you to swim there the whole day.
Food we ate:
( Grilled Pork and Canton Guisado ) Php 390.00
How to get there:
From Blue Velvet, we took taxi to Sta Ana Wharf port near Magsaysay Park (you can side trip there in the park, it takes you 5 minutes walk to the port). Boat fare is Php 80.00 each for one way. Travel time is 1 hour.
MAGSAYSAY PARK
Boat schedule:
We went there for a day trip only so that we can have more places to visit. From the port, we went back to our hotel to take a bath. Then we walked around the city.
SAN PEDRO CATHEDRAL CHURCH
It is 5 minutes walk from our hotel. At the front of the church is the City Hall area.
CITY HALL AREA
From city hall, it is a couple of minutes walk if you want to buy some pasalubong.
ALDEVINCO SHOPPING CENTER
Pasalubong like key chains, shirts, scarfs, wallets and etc. They're selling a lot here.
PASALUBONG CENTER
If you want to buy a food delicacy of Davao like durian candies and mangosteen, you can find it here. They also have key chains, magnets, shirts etc. but there are more in Aldevinco. After we bought pasalubong, we went to Roxas Night Market.
Second day in Davao.
EDEN NATURE PARK
The lady beside me is Ate Shiela, our tour guide in the resort. The resort is quite big that's why you really need a shuttle to ride on. But if you don't want to pay for the shuttle (Php 120.00), you can walk on your own. They will just give you a map for the whole resort.
The shuttle has 3 stops. Rainbow and Flower Garden, Tinubdan and Lola's Garden.
RAINBOW PASS AND FLOWER GARDEN
TINUBDAN
LOLA'S GARDEN
After the tour, we ate our plated snacks. We had a bit of rest then we tried the Indiana Jones.
INDIANA JONES
This is FREE to play.
How to get there:
If you want to commute, just ride a jeepney going to Toril. Tell the driver to drop you off where you can ride habal habal/tricycle going to Eden Nature park. In case you have doubts whether the driver will remember your request to drop you off somewhere, you don't have to worry. Just look out for a Mercury Drug store on the right, with Chowking accross it. This is the place where you can ride a habal habal/tricycle going to Eden. The jeepney fare going to Toril is Php 20.00 each, the habal habal fare is Php 50.00 each one way, while the tricycle is Php 150.00 for two pax one way. Travel time from the city is 1 hour and 30 minutes.

DUTERTE'S HOUSE
Going back to the city, we went to Digong's House (our current President). When we were looking for the house, the Dabawenyo (people in Davao) kept asking us which house of him because according to them, he has two houses.
The old Duterte's House
Duterte's house since he was still Mayor and currently as the President.
MUSUEM DABAWENYO
When we were in the Museum, I learned a lot about Davao. How Duterte loves and cares for the people of Davao and how they love him also. I'm not a pro-Duterte but I am now willing to support him, we will never know. He promoted equality in the city. I think you better go there to know more. Just be open minded. Anyway, after the tour in Museum, we walked around the area and bought banana que for snacks then we went to the park beside the City Hall to eat it.
RIZAL PARK IN DAVAO
There are lots of birds in the park and you can feed them (bird's food is php 5.00). Actually, I didn't expect that there are birds in the park. When I saw it, I was so amazed that I almost forgot to eat. Hahahaha.
